Bollywood Films based in Jungals!: Happy World Environment Day

Taking nature out of Bollywood is impossible. Our love, tragedy and thrillers scenes and songs revolve around nature. While rains are preferred for every emotion, snow, hills, mountains and forests do not lack behind. If we start digging up songs, the list and the article will be an infinite one.

Bollywood have seldom made films keeping nature as major plot but it has definitely used forests as backdrop to many hits. On this World Environment day, we bring you some films based on forest.

  Gumnaam, 1965

A thriller film, the movie is not completely shot in forest yet it uses strangled island and forest as a major resource. The suspects in this thriller film are left in an unknown island cum forest to fight their unknown enemy. It had Nanda and Manoj Kumar in lead role. What happens in the end is a mystery for you to watch and enjoy!

  Daud, 1997

Two notorious people on the run from police and gangsters need a place to hide so what can be better than our jungle? A roadside thriller, the film had Sanjay Dutt and Urmila Matondkar in lead role. The film shows a beautiful chase through forests when they are at task of saving themselves.

        Adventures of Tarzan, 1985

Loosely based on the story of Tarzan, this film was not that much successful at box-office. Starring Hemant Birje, Dalip Tahil, Kimi Katkar and Om Shivpuri, the film was shot in forest and other natural surroundings.

  Kaal, 2005

Kaal is a flick that tells tale of forest and its rustiness. Having Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta and Ajay Devgan as star cast, the movie was quite impressive. Shot entirely in forest and taken to dangerous of forests – ghost, tigers and nature changing its course, the film gave us goose bumps with its various twists and turns.

       Agyaat, 2009

Another horror cum thriller film, it was produced & directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The film did not receive any commercial acclaim but has forest as major backdrop. A mystery of unknown spirit and what nature serves them, it showed nature’s dark side.

  Ragini MMS, 2011

A horror flick, the movie takes place in a deserted house in-between forest. Now, did we just not say that forest is favorite destination for everything? The film was horrifying enough to make us shout, the forest just added to it.

      Go Goa Gone, 2013

Go Goa Gone is a zombie comedy film. The film does not have forest as major backdrop but it certainly has forest where all zombies reside. The strangled island and forest are also the place where Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Raj Kadel, Saif Ali Khan and other actors have to hide.

What we love about these movies is that they gave nature/forest their due credit. What we do not like is that most of the movies show forest as an eerie thing. We would just want our filmmakers to show nature in positive lights as they do in the songs. For now, just read and enjoy the environment day. Preserve, save and support environment from ruining. Signing off!
