8 Kickass Bollywood Daddies

Bollywood is all about family Entertainment. This Fathers Day we celebrate those Kickass Bollywood daddies without whom our movies would probably be anath!

1. Alok Nath: We had to take him first, the babuji of Bollywood. He is single handedly responsible for the sanskaar in many stars like Salman, Madhuri etc.

2. Amrish Puri: No one can forget "Ja Simran ja, jee le Apni zindagi." Amrish Puri had done a variety of roles including negative ones. But he surely made a splendid dad!

3. Anupam Kher: From Saaransh to his recent movies Anupam Kher has played father in different personas. From a funny dad to a serious one, he has done it all.

4. Rishi Kapoor: This dad is one for a "Badtameez" beta, but a charismatic one at that. Rishi is just a delight.

4. Paresh Rawal: it took a father with great heart and mind to do what he did in Table no. 21. And great patience in Hungama. Overall, he is brilliant.

5. Boman Irani: Needing no introduction, Boman Irani has played a troubled father many a times. He brings the funny into the character brilliantly.

6. Amitabh Bachchan: Mohabbatien... Kabhi khushi kabhi ghum... Baghban... Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna...Veer Zara. Different types of dad, same actor. Enough said!

7. Anil Kapoor: Still evading the "pitaji" look, Anil Kapoor has played a kickass dad a couple of times. He even played one in 24 on the small screen.

8. Sharman Joshi: This young dad is in this list for 2 movies where he has essayed the role of a good, wise, hardworking and self sacrificing father- Sorry Bhai and Ferrari ki Savari.

We know that there are many more dad's in Bollywood, but none other were kickass enough to make this list!

Imran Khan and Avantika are blessed with a baby girl

The most romantic couple of Bollywood: Imran Khan and his wife Avantika welcomed their first girl child on 9th June 2014.  The couple had tied a knot in 2011 after dating each other for 10 long years. This gorgeous and lovely couple shared the ‘good news’ in December 2013.

Well, we also had the news that Imran Khan had taken off from his film schedule to be near to his wife and available when baby arrives. Cute!  No wonder, Imran remains to be one of the charmastic and romantic reel and real boyfriend or husband anyone could have.

Avantika delivered her child in a Mumbai hospital during morning hours. It has been reported that both: the new mum and child are healthy. We; ‘That Filmy Girl’ fraternity congratulates them and wishes them happy family times ahead.

Jacqueline Fernandez is a Good Cook: Opening Restaurant in Sri Lanka

I had always wanted to open my own restaurant someday but could not get to it all these years. However, I am quite excited now finally realizing my dreams and am quite looking forward to the project.

Not many people are aware that this Sri Lankan beauty is quite the lady in the kitchen. Blessed with a golden ladle, Jacqueline has decided to finally materialize her long seen dream.

Having recently purchased an island in Sri Lanka, Jacqueline is going one step further into becoming a brand to be reckoned with. Going full power, Fernandez is planning on setting up a restaurant in Colombo by mid-June.

Being a tad bit neurotic about perfection, the porcelain beauty has decided to look into the menu, kitchen habits, interiors of the restaurant and the persona it puts out.

Andaz Apna Apna- Part II

That Filmy Girl brings you the best news that you could have heard in quite some time.

Andaz Apna Apna is coming out in a sequel form! Ahaa! Rajkumar Santoshi is making a film playing sequel to Andaz Apna Apna starring Salman and Aamir playing Amar and Prem. The movie will be all about grown up (and slightly old) Amar and Prem and the jhakaas things that they do.

The movie will also star Paresh Rawal play Bajaj and Teja. ofcourse, Bajaj will have softened up about the "Sab cheez time to time honi chahiye" and Teja will have served jail time and become an honest man (lol, not really!)

Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon will be a part of the film through flashbacks and picture frame dialogues because, if rumours are to be believed, Karishma and Raveena have left Amar and Prem. Filling their void will be Alia and Parineeti. Alia Bhatt and Parineeti Chopra play Karishma and Raveena (different ones) who are crazy about Amar and Prem and want to learn from them about life.

Shakti Kapoor will be playing Buddha Gogo trying to rebuild his legend but failing because no one takes his "aankhein nikal ke goti khelta hoo" seriously any more. Reigning in his territory of villianism will be Nana Patekar in a funny villian avatar. Interestingly, Nana Patekar will probably be donning a very unique persona for the movie!

The movie is slated to go on floors in December 2014 and will be shot at domestic locations!

Boy are we looking forward to this!!!

Bollywood Films based in Jungals!: Happy World Environment Day

Taking nature out of Bollywood is impossible. Our love, tragedy and thrillers scenes and songs revolve around nature. While rains are preferred for every emotion, snow, hills, mountains and forests do not lack behind. If we start digging up songs, the list and the article will be an infinite one.

Bollywood have seldom made films keeping nature as major plot but it has definitely used forests as backdrop to many hits. On this World Environment day, we bring you some films based on forest.

  Gumnaam, 1965

A thriller film, the movie is not completely shot in forest yet it uses strangled island and forest as a major resource. The suspects in this thriller film are left in an unknown island cum forest to fight their unknown enemy. It had Nanda and Manoj Kumar in lead role. What happens in the end is a mystery for you to watch and enjoy!

  Daud, 1997

Two notorious people on the run from police and gangsters need a place to hide so what can be better than our jungle? A roadside thriller, the film had Sanjay Dutt and Urmila Matondkar in lead role. The film shows a beautiful chase through forests when they are at task of saving themselves.

        Adventures of Tarzan, 1985

Loosely based on the story of Tarzan, this film was not that much successful at box-office. Starring Hemant Birje, Dalip Tahil, Kimi Katkar and Om Shivpuri, the film was shot in forest and other natural surroundings.

  Kaal, 2005

Kaal is a flick that tells tale of forest and its rustiness. Having Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta and Ajay Devgan as star cast, the movie was quite impressive. Shot entirely in forest and taken to dangerous of forests – ghost, tigers and nature changing its course, the film gave us goose bumps with its various twists and turns.

       Agyaat, 2009

Another horror cum thriller film, it was produced & directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The film did not receive any commercial acclaim but has forest as major backdrop. A mystery of unknown spirit and what nature serves them, it showed nature’s dark side.

  Ragini MMS, 2011

A horror flick, the movie takes place in a deserted house in-between forest. Now, did we just not say that forest is favorite destination for everything? The film was horrifying enough to make us shout, the forest just added to it.

      Go Goa Gone, 2013

Go Goa Gone is a zombie comedy film. The film does not have forest as major backdrop but it certainly has forest where all zombies reside. The strangled island and forest are also the place where Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Raj Kadel, Saif Ali Khan and other actors have to hide.

What we love about these movies is that they gave nature/forest their due credit. What we do not like is that most of the movies show forest as an eerie thing. We would just want our filmmakers to show nature in positive lights as they do in the songs. For now, just read and enjoy the environment day. Preserve, save and support environment from ruining. Signing off!
