After Queen Kangana Ranaut now wows In ‘Revolver Rani’

After winning hearts as Rani in ‘Queen’, Kangana Ranaut will now be seen playing a feisty gun-toting politico in Sai Kabir’s ‘Revolver Rani’, which hits theatre screens today and it is quite evident that the Queen Bee is about to rule the roost yet again.

Madhureeta Mukherjee says in the Times Of India review, “Kangana is pure dynamite, firing on all barrels. With a tanned tone, kohl eyes and mercurial moods - she uses every weapon to fire a mind-blowing performance.”

Mohar Basu from Koi-Moi states, “It won’t be an erroneous statement to make if you call this an entirely hail, Kangana product and quite justifiably so. There is swagger in her dialogue delivery, confidence in her demeanor and most effortlessly she is sinful, brutal and absolute rogue. Playing all these with such a versatile quality exposing many unseen shades of a character that risked on being deemed caricaturish, she was un-apologetically reveling in a role she had bitten quite rightly into.”

Shubha Shetty Saha from Mid-day says, “The best thing about this film is of course, Kangna. The capable actress portrays this offbeat role of a violent, passionate but vulnerable dacoit with commendable ease.”

NDTV says, “Kangana, fresh from a Queen-size box office triumph, embraces this Rani with all the power that she can muster. The result is a high-on-adrenaline heroine who thrives on overdrive, the kind that went out of vogue with Fearless Nadia and Hunterwali.

“Kangana Ranaut proves that she is not the ‘Queen’ but 'super-queen' of Bollywood with her superlative act. Her contemporaries can very well take a lesson or two from her in acting.” says India Today.

Says Kangana Ranaut,  "It is amazing for any actor to know that their body of  work is being appreciated and acknowledged - Its great news and very encouraging "

Hawaa Hawaai Encourages Inline Skating

Roller skating in general, and Inline Skating in particular, has been receiving a massive boost with young skaters queuing up to experience the joy of skating, in India. Various skating clubs have been seeing an upward trend in parents encouraging their kids to take up the sport.  Today, the Indian Team stands at an overall 2nd position in Asia for Skating. In fact, Roller Skating, having missed its place in the Olympics last year, is now being considered for the 2020 Games, scheduled to be held in Japan.
The governing body for skating is the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) registered in 1955. It has been affiliated with Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) (World Parent body of Roller Skating) since 1971. RSFI was accorded recognition by the Government of India since September 1990, followed by recognition by the Indian Olympic Association.
According to RSFI, Skating in India can be divided into three parts: SpeedArtistic and Roller Hockey- competitions being held for all categories. The important levels of competitions in India are Club level, State LevelAll India Invitational CompetitionNational level and Selection Trials for the Asian and World Championship.
The selection trials are a matter of prestige for the country, as the students chosen represent the country in global competitions. They have to go through strict trials with Indian as well as foreign coaches. Only National and state level winners are invited by the RFSI to participate in the trials. The Asian and World Championships, which every skating aficionado aspires to participate in, are held once in 2 years.
Competitive clubs present nationally, in cities like Visakhapatnam, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and many others, push their students to be the best in the field, instilling values like discipline, commitment and increasing their endurance, driving them towards excellence. They train these young achievers to strive for and reach their goal of becoming the best there is.
On a lighter note, considering that this sport has achieved such a high level of seriousness, it is surprising that it is only now that a movie is being made on inline skating. As per a recent article, the membership in skating clubs nationally is on the rise and some even mentioned the movie Hawaa Hawaai being responsible for it. We could call it Pester Power. However, whatever the reason might be, parents couldn’t be happier. A kid skating outdoor, is definitely a happy kid indoor!

Anjana Stops Randell Gomes' Monsoon Collection Show

Fashion designer Randell Gomes who originally hails from Goa is putting together a special Monsoon Collection of garments and accessories which include casual wear as well as office wear for the monsoons. His collection will also include trinkets and accessories and some colorful umbrellas, all-weather jackets and even shoes and slippers – they are all part of Randell Gomes’ Monsoon Collection 2014.

Says Randell Gomes who is currently holidaying in Fiji while speaking to news agency IndyaNewz.com over the phone,  “Monsoons in Goa and also Mumbai are a nightmare at times. The roads are flooded, the power is down and communication is hampered. Phone lines are on the blink. People normally stay indoors during the rains and most of Goa used to come to a standstill. I am working on an all-season collection of afffordable and wearable garments, accessories and even other monsoon-wear like colorful umbrellas which sport luminous paint, which makes them easily detectable in the dark. I remember my early childhood in south Goa during the monsoons about 43 years ago. The lights would go off and we had to keep looking for our footwear and umbrellas whenever we wanted to go out particular in the late evenings. Sometimes it rains so heavily even during the day that it seems it's mid-night in Goa. Most of my accessories in the Monsoon Collection sport fluorescent paints and colors which gives the products a techno feel and would appeal to the youngsters."

The collection is made of all-weather materials and is reasonably priced. Prices start from Rs 400 and can even go up to Rs 20,000/-, but the economy range is between Rs 400 to Rs 2000/-. Psychedelic colored umbrellas in  fluorescent paints are priced between Rs 300 to Rs 1000/-. This range should give similar Chinese made products a run for their money. While Chinese products are unreliable and either break or spoil within weeks, my products are guaranteed to work for at least a year, explains Gomes adding that his slippers and sandals should be a big hit among young girls.

Glam doll on her way to Hollywood, Anjana B also recently shot with designer Raymond Fernandez for the IndyaNewz.com Bollywood Fashion Fiesta. Anjana B has been signed on for a Hollywood film and she has already started working on the project, we hear. Also part of the shoot was a jewelry shoot for a prominent jewelry brand.

The hot Bengali bombshell who acted in films like Zilla Gaziabad, Right Ya Wrong, Chashme Baddoor and has done ad films like Vithoba dantmanjan, Nmart, Zalim lotion, Kabjamrut, etc., also recently did a sizzling wet-saree special photo shoot or look test for a Hollywood director David S Wolfe who was in Mumbai to sign on two actors. She has also been doing theater for the last 5 years and has acted in plays like Uncle Samjha Karo, See No Evil Hear No Evil and Get rid of my Wife.

The proposed Hollywood film has excerpts of the Kamasutra entwined into its script and will have ample doses of steamy or bold scenes, which will be very aesthetically shot in locales like Scotland, Thailand and in southern parts of India including Goa and Pondicherry, sources told IndyaNewz.com. David Wolfe of Weeping Shadow Films from Sussex, Great Britain also met with a well-known Bollywood hero – whose name has been kept under wraps as his artiste agreement has still to be registered with the concerned authorities. But it seems, the young actor is known for his muscular body and physique and has featured in 4-5 Bollywood films including one with John Abraham.

According to an IndyaNewz.com report the film titled Love and Passion  features Anjana B, a well-known Bollywood hero and another Indian model as well as two female Hollywood actors, the names of whom are not yet released.
